This is not an average boat you see cruising across the Atlantic, especially during a little storm known as Katrina.. that is, unless said boat is carrying drugs... which, rest assured, we were not. To make a long story short, the Coast Guard wouldn't even respond to our "Mayday" call, it was that bad. Music Monday

Happy Monday!

I had a great weekend with my family but I'll post more on that later once I get some pics from the sister.

I decided to start Music Monday (MM).. well, I guess so that I'd have something to say. :) I'm a huge music fan and love going to shows, festivals and finding new bands.

To kick off MM, it is my pleasure to introduce.. Sigur Ros .

This band hails from Iceland, and rightly claim to bring you the beautiful landscape of their homeland with their music. Their website states it is impossible to fully justify their sound with words and I must agree. For starters, some lyrics cannot even be translated because they are sung in 'hopelandic'. This is a form of gibberish vocals that fits to the music and acts as another instrument. And for a little tidbit, they had a song that was featured at the end of the movie Vanilla Sky.
Listen with an open mind, the music is different but it does grow on you. Enjoy!!

Sorry, I'm not very computer savvy.. I'll work on learning how to put up pictures and tracks and try to have them up soon.

WWW Debut..

Here it is, the end of January and I'm just now getting around to this... but at least I am, right?

One of my New Years resolutions was to be better at keeping in touch with family and friends. I don't have Facebook or Myspace, only VeganWorld (but I seriously doubt you've ever heard of it) and I've never been a bloggist but considering my sister will probably be the only one reading this, I think I'm safe.

The challenge with having a blog, to me, is simply having something to say. I don't have kids, I'm not a writer and I'm pretty much the only person that laughs at my jokes. Oh well.. at least I'll have something to look back on and make fun of myself for one day and it'll give my sister something to do when she is bored at work.

My mother just got into town, she is taking me in for surgery tomorrow. I'm ready for my drugs now, PLEASE!!
